KATHERINE HUANG

Katherine recasts, combines and places objects into arrangements which explore the making of bits of space through placement and divisions.

Born in Taiwan in 1976, Katherine completed a BFA Honours at The VCA in 1998, and a PhD Fine Art at Monash University in 2012. She was a studio artist at Gertrude Contemporary from 2005 to 2006. She was awarded the Qantas Art Award 2008, the Australia Council, Greene Street New York Studio 2004 and the Paris Studio 2016. 

Katherine has participated in a number of exhibitions including, Spring 1888, Melbourne 2014, Art HK 2012 and Art Basel Hong Kong 2013, Y3K Melbourne Biennial 2011, Primavera, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney 2006. Katherine is represented by Neon Parc. Her works are in private and public collections including the Art Bank, James Mollison AO, and the Holmesglen Collection.
