A platform for artists, bookmakers and book lovers to discuss, examine and appreciate marvellous imagery and outstanding storytelling.
We will bring together expertise and insight directly from the world’s greatest photographers, graphic designers, curators, publishers & printers.
Our aim is to share their knowledge with professional photographers, passionate amateurs and the inquisitive book lover.

How you will use the studio space for your residency?
Photobook Melbourne will use the space to exhibit, present and promote outstanding contemporary photography. A space to initiate dialogues about photography, photo books and ways of making a photographic practice sustainable.
Our aim is to encourage gatherings, initiate collaborations, share ideas, learn, grow, debate and explore new photographic outcomes and practices. It is all about directing energy and attention to photography.
We will also planned a series of events and workshops and will share the photobooks from the ever-growing Asia Pacific Photobook Archive.
We will open the space on the 4th of February 2016 with the Photobook Melbourne 2016 Photo Award. This will be an exhibition by local and international artists who submitted work to our call out for #memory_archive - a global exchange project. On the 25 February we will exhibit and present the Australian Photobook of the Year Award in partnership with Momento Pro. There are more exciting exhibitions planned, but the opening days still need to be confirmed.
