composer, performer, arranger, engineer working in River Studios
Claire is an inspiring and intuitive musician who works across the fields of screen composition, arranging and performance. Her screen credits include feature length documentaries, short dramas, animated series, TVC’s and station idents which have screened on big and little screens nationally and internationally. Claire studied at the University of Western Sydney (Bachelor of Music- Composition/ Musicology) where she explored writing music & soundscapes for installations, dance and media projects.
She later graduated with a Masters in Screen Composition from AFTRS where she was mentored by some of Australia’s leading composers and filmmakers and gained invaluable experience working with orchestras and scoring for a diversity of musicians. She has also worked as sound editor/designer and broadcast mixer on a number of television productions.
Claire has played and toured extensively as part of several Melbourne bands as accordionist, vocalist, pianist, ukulele-ist, percussionist and hand clapper. She has recently moved into album arrangement and primarily plays keyboard-based instruments including piano, prepared piano, harpsichord, pump organ and accordion as well as banjo, ukulele and double bass.
How do you use your space?
Combining our workload together under abandoned fireworks factory, Tony and I currently use our space at River Studios for quiet thinking and research, writing, arranging, editing and mixing.
