About

A screen printing apprenticeship begun over 40 years ago has lead me to now. A New Zealander, having arrived in Melbourne in 1988. Briefly worked in industry here. Contracted industrial asthma.


Set up my own business in 1991. Briefly a studio in chapel st .Then moved to the MMCC and became the Workshop Co ordinator. Under took many roles via Workshop Co ordinator , including teaching and joining the board of MAV. Helping with weekly radio show on Triple z Radio. Applied for cultural grants to Myer Foundation. Ran a range of diverse workshops. Taught at RMIT for 15 years. Began a teatauk and studio space in sydney Ross Brunswick, called olive grove studios. This was 1999.Focus now on sustainable work practice. Jointly curated first National Screen Printed Textiles Exhibition @ MMCC. Hand to Clith And Crossroads. Became President of the sydney Road Traders association - SRBA. 2yrs, on the board 6years.2011travelled to Italy for a month. I volunteer at VAC. I am currently learning Italian.

What attracted you to the space and what makes your studio suitable for your practice? *

The space lends itself to me having creative input & no distractions. It’s private & spacious & well lit. The opportunity exists to create new, sustainable works. Also to teach Workshops where a sustainable focus is foremost.
