GRIS METAL

Fashion Design (Accessories) working in River Studios

Gris Metal was created by David Agresti and Christophe Der-Mardirossian in Marseille, France in 2002. Christophe is a jewellery designer and David is an accessories designer.

David relocated to Melbourne in 2009 and has started to build the Gris Metal accessories brand in Australia. In Melbourne, David has partnered with Pierre Kadhir (maker / promotion/ marketing) to grow the brand.

Gris Metal has a focus on creating products from up-cycled materials sourced locally.

As a designer, David crafts unique, one off pieces including bags, backpacks, satchels and wallets made from leather, canvas and fabric.

David manufacturers using vintage industrial sewing machines sourced through local Footscray business - Nick Ciancio.

What attracted you to the space and what makes your studio suitable for your practice?

River Studios are the perfect option for Gris Metal for the following reasons:
•provides an opportunity to collaborate with other artists;
•conveniently located in the inner-west (10 minute walk from home);
•sufficient space for manufacture; and,
•affordable and within our current budget.

Gris Metal plans to create an inviting studio to design and produce its accessories from Monday to Friday. The space will include two work spaces, three industrial sewing machines, some storage for our materials and a comfy couch for some thinking/down time.
