Creative Spaces Arts Residency: Boyd Studio-1

    The use of Boyd Studio-1 is currently offered through the City of Melbourne Annual Arts Grants. Boyd Studio-1 is part of a multi-use facility that includes the Southbank Library, KereKere cafe, meeting rooms and seven Creative Spaces Studios.

    Open to all artists and small to medium arts organisations | One 6 month residency available from July to December 2021

    Successful applicants will have 24/7 access to the studio and Boyd building facilities and are required to use the studio at least three days a week during business hours.

    • Studio-1 specifications: a fifty seven square metre studio with large windows, good natural light, wooden floors, high ceilings, sink and wireless internet connection. Not suitable for suspension (due to the heritage nature of the building).

    • Artform: all artforms and practices that don’t require heavy machinery, extractor fans, open flames or generate loud noise

    • Artist fee payment per residency: $10,000 (plus studio space at no cost, valued at $4,600 per residency)
