The use of Boyd Studio-1 is currently offered throught the City of Melbourne Arts Grants Program. Boyd Studio-1 is part of a multi-use facility that includes the Southbank Library, KereKere cafe, meeting rooms and seven Creative Spaces Studios.
Applications have now closed for the 2019 residency program. Applications for the 2020 program will open 24 May and close 5pm on 24 June.
Open to all artists and arts organisations | Two 6 month residencies available
Successful applicants are required to use the studio at least three days a week during business hours and provide an opportunity where members of the public can see (open studio) or hear about (artist talk) the work that was developed in the studio during the residency.
• Studio-1 specifications: a fifty seven square metre studio with large windows, good natural light, wooden floors, high ceilings, sink and wireless internet connection. Not suitable for suspension (due to the heritage nature of the building).
• Artform: all artforms and practices that don’t require heavy machinery, extractor fans, open flames or generate loud noise
• Artist fee payment per residency: $10,000 (plus studio space at no cost, valued at $4,000 per residency)
