Located between Sullivan’s Cove and Hobart’s CBD Franklin Square is Hobart’s most prominent and central recreational park of Hobart. Named after the former Governor of Van Diemen’s Land – John Franklin, this Heritage listed Victorian style park occupies the site allocated for old government house. Lined with Oak trees that bound Hobart’s largest fountain, the space is a much loved green space refuge for locals

    and visitors.

The recent refurbishments enable Franklin Square to be envisioned for multiple creative platforms and has been showcased for events including lighting installations projected on trees for Mona Foma and the Friday night Street Eats @ Franko, which includes 23 stalls installations and food vans, live music, films and performance.
