The Butter Factory Arts Centre is a bustling partially funded, independant arts space with 4 exhibition galleries, 1 artisan store ( with 30+ local artisans onsite monthly); a ceramic studio with 10 pottery wheels, 4 tutors and fully equipped; a monthly network of over 60 volunteers (the majority of which have their own creative practice).
The studio is available to hire as a space independant of BFAC programming and operations. Or we can engage in your stay with things like:
time + project management
artistic admin (online, applications etc).
Each residency is artist led, so residents can opt in and out of what suits them.
This residency aims to nurture space and opportunity for artists working in any field and at any stage of their career. It also aims to meet the significant gap in public studio spaces available for artists on the Sunshine Coast.
As an art space with a strong network and engaged audience, we'd love to open it up to the next generation of creatives. We are more than happy to connect artists to share the studio space, it could comfortable home 4 artists in approx. 3m x 3m spaces.
Shared studio space can be arranged with an individual price per resident. Eg. 4 artists at $50pp per week.
Weekly rent for the whole studio space is $200.
Subsidised weekly rent for the whole studio space is $150 (this is available on a case-by-case basis, please ask!)
Free, off street parking in onsite carpark
