The kil.n.it workshop is a pay-as-you-go ceramic creation space.

You only pay for the day you attend.

To use our workshop and join our network, you must have at least some experience with clay (i.e done a class with kil.nit or neighbouring institutions) and are able to work alone and self directed. Be prepared with plastic tubs to contain your belongings or store mid-process works to avoid incidents from peers. You can buy clay (during business hours) and store clay onsite.

Some technical assistance is available onsite during business contact hours.

The workshop has no opening or closed hours - only staffed or unstaffed business contact hours - workshop use times are determined by you!

i.e: Once you finish, pull the door shut to lock it= closed.

You must be inducted into the safety procedures in order to use the workshop.  Please purchase and arrange an induction appointment before embarking on working  in times outside staffed hours**, i.e weekends or after 4pm weekdays.

    Once inducted:

    • You can store clay in the Workshop under-sink cupboard,
    • Enjoy our pottery wheels, boards, bats, extruder and slab rollers provided
    • Utilise workshoppers-only shelving for toolboxes and equipment
    • Store works in progress in the Work-in-Progress cupboard
    • Easily include your pieces into firings
    • Be optionally inducted into the Glaze Kitchen
    • Make specialised orders from our suppliers who deliver to our door, at no extra charge
    • Receive social media promotion of your projects, discounts, invitations to events and offers of inclusion in exhibitions

Upon arrival you must sign-in on the WHS ledger in the Workshop.

The Workshop can house 4 drop-in patrons at one time comfortably, however we have facilities for 3 hand building tables, 4 throwing wheels, as well as tables and places to make in the sunshine on our balcony.
