Be inspired by the unique combination of heritage buildings (1850s & 1880s) and the quiet rural location offering space to run residential workshops for 2-7 nights (or longer).
Inside and outdoor (covered) workshop spaces and onsite accommodation for max 12 people (separate accommodation for tutor is also available). York is just 100kms east of Perth (and the airport). Kookaburra Cottages are located in the centre of town (pop ~4,000) and comprise four x rooms with a mix of private and shared accommodation. Workshop areas are suitable for music, writing, painting, photography, dyeing, weaving and a range of other art practices (workshop requiring special equipment, eg ceramics, jewellery, etc no supported at this stage). The accommodation is comfy, clean with common kitchen and shared bathroom facilities.
The site is quiet, close to the river with plenty of beautiful nature and heritage walks on its doorstep.
A new gallery and retail space is planned for opening towards the end of 2016.
