Mathers House, originally the Archibald Park Memorial Building was built in 1959 as a “60 and Overs” club by the City of Hobart Council. Today, Mathers House still has a focus on senior members of the community with an emphasis on positive ageing, but is a vibrant space open to everyone.
The upper floor is a large, bright, open space with commercial kitchen facilities, making it good for events, workshops, artist talks and small recitals.
The lower level is a medium-size room that can seat up to 50 people with full-length mirrors making it perfect for dance rehearsals and performances, films and master classes. The room has an accessible toilet, kitchenette facilitiescan and can be fully blacked-out.
A modern multimedia system and electronic whiteboard is available and the facility is available for hire after hours and on the weekend.
