    The Pioneer Theatre is a multipurpose venue capable of various configurations including a 360 seat adjustable performance space (including 188 seats on a tiered retractable seating bank), a Cabaret setting of 22 tables and 220 seats, a full banquet mode with 34 tables and 340 seats, and several other configurations.

    It is a highly versatile ‘black box’ style theatre, designed to accommodate a variety of uses including theatrical works, orchestral, acoustic and contemporary music, cabaret, large corporate functions, conferences, school and social events including weddings, family gatherings, film screenings and parties. The theatre also boasts a modern commercial kitchen.

    Pricing Terms

    Pricing is based on either Commercial or Not for Profit / Cultural Performance rates (The quoted rates are Commercial). The theatre can be hired from a half day to up to two weeks, longer by negotiation. For further information please call 1300 426 654 or email: venues@thehills.nsw.gov.au

    Special Requirements

    As the Theatre is part of an existing residential complex, state government regulations pertaining to fire alarm systems dictate that the use of smoke, haze, dry ice, incendiary, or similar effects are forbidden for use in the theatre.

    The theatre is not licensed for alcohol, however hirers of the venue can obtain a permit for the sale of alcohol within the theatre.

    Lease Conditions

    This Theatre is offered as a "Dry Hire" venue, which means that all staffing (A/V, Technical, Stage Management, Front of House, Ticketing etc) must be sourced by the hirer. All A/V or Technical operators must be either approved by the Theatre, or attend an orientation session prior to the use of the theatre.

    Parking Notes

    Parking is available for the Pioneer Theatre within the Castle Grand car park, accessible off Castle Street. This parking is shared with other users of the building. Additional parking is available at Castle Towers Shopping Centre.
