The Shakespeare Grove Artist Studios is a council-managed facility currently housing 15 artists at the old St Kilda Bowling Club at 2 Spenser Street, St Kilda, near Luna Park. The site is shared with Vegout, a local community garden which has 140 plots tended by local residents and groups. The current community garden emerged from the old bowling green. The studios provide private, secure workspace for a wide range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, ceramics, illustration and fashion design. There is 24 hour, 7 days a week access to a secure building within the gardens.
$167 - $240 pcm
Artists must be residents of the City of Port Phillip or demonstrate a strong connection to the City in order to be eligible for application to the studios.
Artists may apply for a studio tenancy of three years, with a preliminary 6 month probationary period. Applications will be accepted when vacancies exist but artists may register their interest by forwarding: Name, address, phone no., email and medium / art practice to firstname.lastname@example.org. Those registered will be invited to apply when vacancies become available.
