The City of Melbourne is temporarily closing its public libraries and cultural and recreations centres to try to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our workforce and community.
Signal will be closed from Monday 16 March 2020 until Tuesday 31 March 2020, with the possibility of this closure being extended.
The Signal Space is a multi-purpose space, suitable for intimate performances and small-scale events.
The 59 square metre ground level space is fitted with a lighting rig and has the capacity to host 30 seats in a theatre setting and standing room of 50.
A youth arts studio, Signal is conveniently located next to the Flinders Street Station, by the Yarra River. Formerly known as Signal Box "A", the building was constructed in 1889 immediately after the completion of the surviving adjacent Sandridge Rail Bridge, now in use as a public walkway.
