We are a low-rental shop/gallery/room based in Brunswick for cartoonists, but we expand our circle of inclusion to embrace any kind of artist whose work overlaps into cartooning, comic drawing, animation or illustration.
Artists in Squishface get:
* a quiet social workspace at the central table,* wall space and street front window space to display work,* space on the shelves to sell comics and prints, and* wi-fi access.
We have a shared collection of markers, pens, stationery, long arm staplers, paints, pens, pencils a guillotine, japanese comic paper and Gocco printers.
We also have a Risograph printer just sitting there.
Squishface opened its doors on Australia Day, 2012 with a goal to be a quiet, social workspace for comic artists to work on their own projects.
Squishface Studio is open to the public. This is to encourage Squishface as a hub for visiting and aspiring cartoonists, and we usually expect a few inquisitive people popping their heads in every day, often seeking commissioned work, sometimes just after advice, or to network.
