The Union Theatre is a proscenium arch style venue with a large stage, house curtain, fly tower and refurbished auditorium. Its acoustics are sympathetic to untrained voices and the stage is not raked, making this a popular venue for student and amateur performances including musicals and dance shows. The theatre’s deep fore-stage and audio-visual facilities also make it ideal for corporate and conference presentations. Backstage, lighting, control and equipment are of a professional standard.

We recommend that you plan to make a drop off in case both accessible parks are in use. If you park in the accessible park you need to purchase a ticket from the machine and display that alongside your disabled parking permit.
Unfortunately, being in the middle of campus means that there are no car parks available immediately outside Union House.
For details of the public car parks on campus see: students.unimelb.edu.au/explore/parking-at-parkville
Please note that Grattan Street (between Royal Parade and Leicester Street) and Barry Street (between Pelham Street and Grattan Street) are closed to vehicles for up to five years due to the Metro Tunnel Project. Please allow extra time to navigate and park around the University.
