Beechworth Arts Council & Arts Precinct

Originally established on Mayday Hill, the buildings in the arts Precinct were part of the Mayday Hill Asylum, est. in 1880.

The Beechworth Arts Council occupies 3 of the oldest buildings;

the STORE [exhibition, short term residency studio 3 months max, gallery venue];
the TOYWORKSHOP [12 studios]; and
the KIOSK [workshop/ 4 studios]

All are single storey venues, predominantly white, high ceilings, excellent natural light.

Volunteer staff only. The venue is not licenced for the serving of alcohol.

Special Requirements

Own public liability, unless members of Beechworth Arts Council. Council permits, first aid, security can be organized through application to the Committee of Management.
