CLASS artspace (Centre for Latin American Solidarity and Studies)

CLASS artspace (a shop front window space - exposed to Victoria street passers-by) got underway in January 2008. It's mission is to expose local / international art and artists who find it necessary to challenge the status quo but are finding it very difficult to find funding. The space is therefore free of charge with the hope that the artist will do their utmost to promote their work.

Past exhibitions have included the work of Melbourne artist/activist Glenn Todd ("Bubble"), women's peace activist Kim Bullimore ("Live From Occupied Palestine"), and Melbourne artist/activist Van Rudd's exhibition " And then Young Jesus Shouted..." (March 08).

This space is a window installation space suitable for visual art.

The space is in the window of the CLASS Bookshop, a standard shopfront window that faces Victoria St.
It is totally visible to the public.
The size is approx. 2m long, 180cm high and 60cm deep.
It works best when artists construct artwork for the space.
Access to the space is best via the side-street.
Car parking directly out front.
The 57 West Maribyrnong tram stops directly out front.

Equipment will depend on the wishes of the artist and the negotiations made with the space coordinator.
