Come and join our established Visual Arts Studio focused on skills and artistic development. Easey St Artist Studios and Gallery provides for visual arts studios to developing, emerging and professional artist who have a sense of community. 

Easey St Artist Studios and Gallery is located at 21 Easey St, Collingwood. A large warehouse, the building has been operating as a visual artist studios for over 12 years.

There are two floors with maximum light upstairs. Downstairs has less natural light and is suited to ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, installation and mixed media. The warehouses common spaces, kitchenetts and seating areas and are commercially cleaned. There is an organised studio management.

Leases are medium to long term and each artist needs to sign a licence agreement. Rent covers all the building outgoings; a bond (same as monthly rent) and key deposit is requied as you move in. A yearly % increase applies to studio rentals from March usually the CPI. Rentals commence at $180 per month.

There is a small gallery for community exhibitions, festival exhibition's, launches, photographic studio and studio artist exhibitions. Fees are based on a daily sliding scale rate and a $50 key deposit. Easey St artists can negotiate fees for exhibition programs. All artists need to curate, hang, sit and take down their exhibitions and make walls good on completion.

Staff Provided

There is no full time staff at the studios. However the owner of Easey St is a practising artist and has a studio space within the studios. 

Special Requirements

1) The Buildings are locked at all times for security reasons. Access is provided through a key deposit and a register is kept of all keys.

2) Exhibitions etc. are to be staffed by the artist at all times. Artist's are responsible for hanging and taking down their exhibitions and making the walls good.

3) Public liability and building insurances is provided to the common areas of the warehouse.

4) Artists should consider their own insurances for their studio space.

5) There is no live in or short term residential accomodation provided at Easey St.
