Gasworks Studio Theatre

The Studio Theatre was originally part of the original South Melbourne gas production plant. Since becoming an arts centre, the space has been used for performances, rehearsal and small gatherings.

The Studio Theatre is an intimate performance space with floorboards and flat rows of moveable seating for up to 50 patrons. It has an industrial ambience with very high ceilings and is ideal for a variety of uses including: rehearsals, live performance, readings or as a green room in conjunction with theatre hire. The space does not have a fixed lighting grid, however lighting bars can be installed in virtually any location within the roof. There are curtain rails around three sides of the room enabling the space to be dressed or used in its original industrial state.

Parking

There is free unrestricted parking on all four sides of the park with room for buses and large vehicles. Closest parking is at the main entrance to the theatre buildings on Graham Street.
