Multidisciplinary Installation Artist working in River Studios
Nicholas McGinnity is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist primarily concerned with forms of process, materiality and the perception of the body.
Nicholas' practice deals with a wide range of concepts often referencing an urban construct, reflecting on developmental change in which many of us live or have become accustomed. Nicholas approaches concepts either through his choice of material which is either found or construction-grade materials, otherwise through process of making in order to implicate these ideas.
Completing his BFA at RMIT University in 2014, Nicholas has exhibited in numerous shows throughout Australia and collaborations abroad including commissioned Murals and hosting public events.
What attracted you to the space and what makes your studio suitable for your practice?
Aside from the facilities which are spacious and well equipped, I'm attracted to the location which is both industrial and situated next to Maribyrnong River.
