Artist working in River Studios
I am an artist originally from Western Australia and now based in Melbourne. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Western Australia in 2006 and later received my Master of Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Melbourne in 2012. My work is inspired by my surrounding environment and our relationship with the natural world. I like looking closely at things and playing with different scales and perspectives. I work mostly with watercolour on paper and my paintings are often highly detailed with layers of colours and patterns. I have recently begun experimenting with creating painted watercolour paper sculptures and I am looking forward to continue exploring this approach.
What attracted you to the space and what makes your studio suitable for your practice?
I was attracted to the space because of its location, size, light and affordability and the opportunity to work alongside other artists and makers.
