Lana is a provisional psychologist, international development practitioner and artist based on Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung lands. Born in Indonesia, Lana spent formative years in Jakarta, Singapore and Perth. She completed a double degree Fine Arts and Cultural Studies from Curtin University (Perth) and has postgraduate qualifications in psychology from the University of Melbourne.

Drawing on the autobiographical, Lana works across paintings and installations, exploring themes of place, ‘home’, security, and the unconscious. Lana has participated in several projects and group exhibitions at The Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery and Breadbox Gallery in Perth, and c3 art space in Melbourne.

What attracted you to the space and what makes your studio suitable for your practice?

I was drawn to the natural light, collegiality and organisation at River Studios, also its close proximity to Maribyrnong River. Together it felt like an ideal space for me to reengage with my practice.
