Lizzy Simpson

About

Lizzy Simpson lives and works on the lands of the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin nation with respect for Aboriginal culture and heritage and the ongoing relationship the Traditional Custodians have with the Land.

A committed and diligent artist and teacher of over 40 years experience, Lizzy refreshed and renewed her practice by completing a Master of Fine Art (RMIT) in 2017. While studying she expanded her methods and concepts, finding installation and participation effective ways to think through then realise her ideas.
Lizzy works across unorthodox and visual artforms, including gardening, walking, sharing food and conversation, ritual, exchange and gifting, games, storytelling and video many of which are integrated into complex immersive and participatory installations.
2018 -2019 were very busy years with national and international residencies and exhibitions.
She is now in a period of deeply consolidating this creative practice.
