Christina Darras is a multidisciplinary artist of Athenian Greek background. She uses a multitude of mediums, including drawing, painting, embroidery, and installations. Her work is whimsical and storytelling, often to the borders of sugar-sweet overload and sarcasm. The drawings are time-consuming; she likes to go deep into making, creating details that invite the viewer to go closer and create intimacy. Her work encapsulates the meaning of identity and belonging. The constant questioning in her work is about who we are beyond our identity tags, either that of ethnicity, religious beliefs, professional path, gender, looks etc. She links identity to time, seeing the fluidity of time that takes, water-like, the shape of its containers, the same happens with identity, taking the shape of the present time.
