About
I’m Sheng Yi and I’m a Malaysian artist, designer and teacher living in Melbourne. I moved to Australia in 2009 to pursue my studies in architecture, only to end up becoming a self-taught web designer and developer to support my love for art.
My work is as diverse as the ways in which I create them. Throughout the years I’ve experimented with various mediums, falling in love with each one as they offer different means of expressing a subject. Portraits, clouds, food — I draw and paint many things that inspire me.
A big part of my practice is teaching. Through Classe Petit, not only am I able to offer a fun, inclusive space to students – anywhere from ages 5 to 80 – but I am also learning from the infinitely creative community of non-artists around me.
