Writer, Director, Producer
Stephen Di Gravio
Born and raised in Newcastle, NSW. Stephen struggled to find opportunities to study filmmaking within his hometown, leading him to ultimately pack up and pursue his dream in Melbourne.
Stephen later went on to study at both Swinburne University of Technology (undergrad) and The Victorian College of the Arts (postgrad), where he produced several shorts, music videos, and also met Xavier Brydges; a fellow Director/ Producer and the other half of their business, Kit3.
Kit3 of course, was named after the infamous camera kit that was stolen during production in their graduate year and serves as a constant reminder that anything that can go wrong on a film set, will most definitely go wrong.
A life long lover of speculative fiction (and alliteration apparently), Stephen is an emerging filmmaker with an aspiration to tell stories that both engage and challenge audience preconceptions; often through humour, satire, or emotional realism in the face of the absurd. Think Rod Serling (but without the smoking), H.P Lovecraft (but without the racism), or Charlie Kaufman (but without the same level of emotional intelligence).
