About

I have a long-term interest in historical costume and historically-informed garment construction and have made numerous tailored garments from late medieval through to early modern periods over the last 25 years.

With a professional background in engineering, I am particularly interested in exploring how 3D structure is created from flat forms using a mix of traditional tailoring techniques, folded materials, origami and sculptural elements such as 3D printing, plastics and wire assemblies.

I create bespoke pieces for queer Melbourne performers who are extending the boundaries of the drag artform. My practice approaches garment design from the adjacent field of engineering and explores this crossover through disciplined thought about 3D form and the use of non-conventional materials and methods.
