We have a workspace available at Black Lake - a shared studio for art, illustration and design, established in 2015.
Black Lake is an air conditioned creative cabin, built into the back corner of The Compound Interest - a converted warehouse located just off Smith St in Collingwood. Our neighbours in the building include architects, florists and designers of all sorts.
The desk space available is an open plan room, shared with a small group of artists/illustrators/designers: Sean Morris, Eva House, Ben Constantine and Ben Baker.
The space available comes equipped with a desk, chair, and shelving. (There is also an extra shared storage area outside the room.) It's a good amount of space for computer-based work, but can also accommodate small to medium-scale painting.
We share a courtyard and well-maintained kitchen and bathroom facilities with the rest of the warehouse.
The room is lockable and the building is secure, with 24 hour access.
We're a 30 second walk from the 86 tram, and close to buses on Johnston Street. A short walk to Officeworks, just around the corner from multiple art galleries, and steps away from the best Japanese cafe and the best Vietnamese bakery in town.
Contact Sean Morris with expressions of interest, (including information about yourself and examples of your work) or if you have any questions.
Rent is $304 a month. On top of this, all studio members will share quarterly water and council fees, and an annual insurance fee.
2 hours street parking available near by.
