Gauge Gallery

Type of space: Multi-use Space, Art Gallery

Gauge Gallery (located below Glass Artists' Gallery) accepts proposals from emerging and established artists working in any media other than glass. The two galleries offer a unique venue in this busy inner-city suburb.

This street-level space is light and airy with three large windows facing the street. Walls are white painted concrete with a flexi-display track hanging system; the floors are tiled; track lighting is in situ and the space has plinths of varying sizes available. There is a pleasant outdoor space that can be utilised.

Artists are expected to be organised and able to manage their own promotion, mailing lists, install and gallery minding. No commission on sold works is taken during the period of the exhibition.

Gauge Gallery is exceptional for professional presentations and exhibitions, which has been reiterated by the feedback received from previous hirers.

    Gauge Gallery opening times are:

    Tues-Sat: 10am - 5.30pm

    Sun: 1pm - 5pm

    Mon: Closed unless prior appointment.

These hours can be extended upon arrangment with management.

    Pricing Terms

No commission applies for the duration of the hired exhibition space.

A 10% commission applies to any before or after-exhibition sales secured by management.

Gauge Gallery is willing to consider proposals that are different to weekly hiring upon request, and if the specified period is available at that time.

    Lease Conditions

Installation of the exhibition takes place on a Monday prior to the exhibition opening unless otherwise arranged with management. Artworks are to remain in the exhibition for the entire specified timeframe. All works are to be removed from the space on the final Sunday (after 5pm).

All advertising, promotion and gallery minding is the responsibility of the hiring artists. Gauge will have a website entry for the exhibition, providing a link to the invitation. Invitation must have the Gauge logo on it. In addition, Gauge will send out the artist's exhibition invitation to their adjoining gallery's (Glass Artists' Gallery - upstairs level) mailing list.
