We have a shopfront with good natural light in a heritage building, suitable for pop up space, or exhibiton, or short term studio or rehearsal space, available now.
We have LED track gallery lighting on both side and rear walls. A display window divides the studio from the street and can be used to showcase work amongst our plants (easel provided). There are electronic security locks on exterior and internal door to shopfront.
If you're looking for a space suitable for an open studio, exhibition, or pop up, this is the spot for you! The double glazing makes it quite a quiet space. It's a generous 5.5 m x 7 m with polished hardwood floorboards and four metre high ceilings. The shopfront is well insulated (you won't feel the summer heat) and there's a bathroom for your use only.
Not suitable for those working with toxic chemicals and gases, oil paint, sawdust, etc.
Transport links are great, we're a 4 minute walk from Victoria Park Station; the 200 and 207 bus stop right outside (making the display window always visible). Tram routes within 10 min walk: 86 and 96. Buses on the corner of Hoddle/Johnston Street bus stops (200, 207, 246, 303, 304, 309 & 905). We're on Johnston St, a 7 minute walk from Smith St.
There is a half-step into shopfront and the bathroom has a ramp to door but will not be wheelchair accessible until April 2020. Please note that our residence is behind and we pass through the shopfront to get to the house. If you need privacy for events, we can work out being out or not in your way.

Rent is a month in advance for monthly use and upfront for daily/weekly use.
The three lovely tenants who live upstairs in the building enter through same front door and will need to walk through the shopfront to access their living spaces. Currently their bike parking is a rack that lives in shopfront, you can share this or it can be removed on request.
Access is via a code or if you prefer, security card- refundable deposit of $50 for each card.
Broadband internet and utilities included (surcharge for use of high energy equipment)
Use of your own bathroom at rear of shopfront, which we have cleaned twice a month.
A deposit of $500 is needed for all bookings, returned at the end of your lease.
Unmetered 2P street parking is reasonably available
We have a visitor permit (this may be used for a minimal fee, please let us know if this is required).
