Space overview
Focal Point Darkroom is the largest and best-equipped public access darkroom in Australia, with 20 colour or Multigrade enlargers (for variable contrast black-and-white printing) and capable of doing film formats up to 4"x5". There are two enlargers with drop-boards; two large central sinks (one specifically for shortwer people, kids or patrons in wheelchairs), an automated print processor for up to 20"x24" prints (available at additional hire cost); automated print dryer for up to 20"x24" prints, variable safelight options and cater for special access needs. There is a second darkroom specifically for film processing, with its own wet and dry areas and a film drying cabinet. A third multi-purpose darkroom is also available, which includes a 4"x5" copy-camera with accessories for smaller camera types.
