The use of Boyd Garret is offered as a residency through the City of Melbourne Annual Arts Grants.

Boyd Garret is a 12 month writing residency supporting writers working in any field of creative writing.
• Artist fee payment: $5,000 (plus studio space at no cost, valued at $4,326).
• Studio specifications: 20m2 with large windows, good natural light, carpet, high ceilings.
• Access: Artists will have 24/7 swipe card access to the garret and the Boyd building facilities and are required to be in residence for a minimum of three days per week. The Garret is only accessible by a staircase.
Boyd is a City of Melbourne integrated community service space, housing the Southbank Library, a cafe, family services, meeting rooms and artist studios. This studio is only available through City of Melbourne Annual Arts Grants. There are no residencies available for 2024.
