Upon entering the first-floor space, visitors discover a generous open-plan environment with big windows, high ceilings and an uncomplicated design aesthetic that references the building’s industrial past. The layout is divided into two distinct spaces - one where productive work can flourish and one where residents can rest and unwind. Capped at 26 large desks, everyone here is a familiar face, with informal interactions often sparking new ideas and valuable learning opportunities. Rubato Upstairs is located in the heart of Brunswick - only a 3-minute walk from bustling Sydney Road and Anstey Railway Station. We have a great bunch of neighbours in this ever-changing patch of Brunswick – including Hope Street Space, Ovens Street Bakery, Very Good Falafel and A1 Bakery. And right downstairs is Tempo Rubato, a live classical music venue and bar described by Broadsheet as “Brunswick’s answer to the Concert Hall”.
