I'm currently working my way through a Master of Arts Photography at PSC Melbourne.
My thesis, The Transit Lounge aims to bring to life my observations of the in-between spaces, places and emotions that occur between the known and unknown in our built environment. My focus in this essay will be on liminal spaces that occupy a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary, and the unease that might describe an emotional space rather than a physical one.
The most powerful images of liminal spaces go beyond the easily explainable and reveal a new reality. We don’t quite know what to do with these images and we struggle to find a way to contextualise them.
