Space overview
A peaceful, light-filled counselling room is available part-time in a beautifully converted studio space in Abbotsford. Thoughtfully furnished and designed for comfort and calm, this space is ideal for artists, writers, psychologists, counsellors and coaches.
Private, quiet 10m2 room in shared studio (divided by screens - 1/2 is my jewellery studio, access not included) Suitable for: - Painters & illustrators (desk, comfy chair & easel) - Writers (desk, comfy chair, WiFi & powerpoints) - Small groups up to 6 people - larger available table for seated illustration/painting/craft classes (I use the space for beading workshops this size; it works beautifully). - Small groups seated in a circle without table (eg. group therapy/meditation) - Counsellors & therapists (2x comfortable armchairs & coffee table - I have sublet the space to a coach who has found the room very suitable for this practice) Included amenities: - 2x comfortable armchairs - Additional 8 chairs w/ padded seats - Well stocked tea & coffee station w/ kettle & microwave - Mini fridge for storage of your milk/small snacks - Wi-Fi, heater, fan, communal kitchenette access - Available on request: extra chairs, meeting table, whiteboard
Just four kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and spread over 16 acres, the Abbotsford Convent – with its 11 historic buildings and gardens – is Australia’s largest arts and cultural precinct.
The former Convent of the Good Shepherd, this ex-monastic site is now owned by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF) – a not-for-profit organisation that operates the Abbotsford Convent on behalf of the public.
Today, the Convent is home to over 100 studios, two galleries, cafes, a radio station, a school, and an abundance of green open space. Each year the Convent welcomes a diverse range of art projects, rehearsals, workshops, exhibitions, markets, events and festivals.
