Creative Spaces Aboriginal Creative Studio Space 2026 Expressions of Interest are now open for the fourth edition of our free Aboriginal Creative Studio Space. Available October 2026–April 2027, this 17sqm studio at Boyd Studios supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists to research, develop and create, with no public outcome required.

Applicants will answer three questions about their practice, how they intend to use the space and the benefits this opportunity will bring to their art-making.
Aboriginal Creative Studio Space offers a secure studio that features a large window with good natural light, wooden floors, high ceilings, heating and air conditioning. There is a shared kitchen, bathroom, end of trip facilities and dining area close by.
The studio located at Boyd Community Hub, reachable by trams 3 and 58, and buses 234.
Boyd is the City of Melbourne's first integrated community service space, transformed from the heritage-listed site of the former JH Boyd Girls' High School. It houses the Southbank Library, artist studios, as well as maternal, child health and family support services. </br>
