Apax Warehouse
Space overview
APAX warehouse was originally an old gasket factory which has since been revamped to house photography studio and charming multidisciplinary space.
APAX houses an 8 × 12 metre photography studio and multidisciplinary space with 3-4 metre ceilings. Formerly a gasket factory in the 1980s, the warehouse retains a distinct industrial character, with exposed concrete walls and a soft pink off-white concrete floor. The space is bathed in natural light throughout the afternoon, with the option to fully black out when required. The studio features an open-plan kitchenette, office area and lounge, alongside a bathroom and a 4 metre wide roller door for easy loading access. ------------------------------------- APAX currently functions as a photography studio for seven photographers, who share the space via a calendar system. Photographers seeking a more permanent studio arrangement are encouraged to contact us directly, with availability opening from 2026 at $350 per month for 3–4 days’ use of the space. The space is available to hire for one-off photography and film shoots, as well as launches, workshops, and screenings.
APAX is located just off Bells St and High Street, Preston. The space is walking distance from the 86 tram line and Bell train station as well as coffee shops and the Preston market.
