Space overview
Florence Street Studios is perfect for rehearsal and development of artistic projects. Ideal for people working in dance and performance - solo practitioners or small ensembles. Florence Street is also used regularly for music recording and production.
The space has wooden floors, high ceiling, heating, aircon and plenty of light. There is an adjoining kitchenette with fridge, espresso machine, microwave and anything else you made need. Please note, the space is only available Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm, however outside hours can be negotiated. Different rates apply for people wishing to use the studio for photography, video and sound recording purposes. Please get in touch to discuss.
Our space is within easy walking distance of Seddon and West Footscray train stations. There are plenty of great cafes in the vicinity.

Florence Street Studios can be optimised for either sound or dance/theatre. The wooden floor 'floats' on rubber stoppers but can be covered with carpet to deaden the sound response. There are also 4 large moveable audio 'gobos' to provide sound isolation.
The audio production studio is soundproof and treated, there are large double doors between the spaces that can be open or shut. The spaces are cabled with wallplates for audio connectivity.
The large space is fantastic for recording strings or anything that requires ambience and 'air'.
