Space overview
Showing work at Gallery Unbound is about more than an exhibition date. It’s about care, conversation and genuine connection. Artists are supported before, during and after their show, creating momentum, confidence and an experience grounded in trust and professionalism.
The gallery is a well-lit, open and airy space with clean white walls, track lighting system, and a professional track hanging system. Sightlines run from the front through to the back of the gallery, creating a strong sense of openness and flow, while the central walls feature open bases that allow light, movement and energy to travel freely through the space. Gallery Unbound is most commonly configured as four distinct exhibition spaces, though the layout is highly adaptable. The gallery can be curated to host a single artist, multiple shared exhibitions, or up to six individual solo shows simultaneously. Walls may also be hired separately, allowing for flexible and tailored exhibition formats. For group exhibitions, the space comfortably accommodates up to 75 artists, with one artwork per artist at approximately 80cm wide. This flexibility allows exhibitions to be thoughtfully scaled while maintaining balance, clarity and a strong viewing experience for audiences.
Gallery Unbound is located at 497 High Street, Northcote, on one of Melbourne’s most vibrant and creative strips. Surrounded by independent cafés, bars, bookstores and small businesses, the gallery sits within a neighbourhood known for its strong arts culture and community spirit.
Just minutes from Northcote Plaza, All Nations Park and the 86 tram line, the gallery is easily accessible and benefits from steady foot traffic. High Street Northcote attracts a mix of artists, collectors, creatives and curious passers-by — people who are open, engaged and genuinely interested in art.
With a long history of supporting independent art spaces, the area is an ideal setting for exhibitions that value connection over convention. Gallery Unbound is embedded in the everyday rhythm of the neighbourhood, offering artists a location that feels alive, approachable and culturally engaged.
