Golden Age is a heritage listed boutique cinema and art-deco bar, nestled in what was once Sydney's Hollywood Quarter. The venue provides a unique space for creative practitioners to shoot and showcase their content, as well as host meetings, exhibitions, performances and private functions.
Immerse yourself in the dim warm lights, plush velvet curtains, leather seats and mahogany walls of our Old Hollywood bar. Equipped with stage and sound gear, a hidden mirrored stage and seating for up to 40 guests, the Golden Age Bar is the perfect backdrop for your photoshoots and film shoots, meetings/workshops and live performances or exhibitions. Showcase your content in style at Golden Age’s lovingly restored cinema. Intimate, beautiful and fully equipped, our cinema features 56 1940s-era cinema chairs with plush velvet upholstery sourced from Zurich, a 140 inch cinema screen, a 2k digital cinema projector, PA system and 5.1 surround sound speakers.
Golden Age Cinema & Bar is located in the heart of Surry Hills, a short walk away from Central and Museum Station. Our venue is on the Lower Ground of Paramount House, a bustling building with a boutique hotel, fine dining restaurant, fitness studio and hip cafes.
