Space overview
An open-plan, homey, bespoke artist's studio warehouse and living space in the inner north suburb of Brunswick East. We host three resident artists, plus studio artists variously using a shared photo studio, printmaker, 3D animator and painters.
This is a large double storey warehouse with high ceilings, good natural light, concrete floors, and brick and partition board walls. Roof has strong beams and there is the ability for someone crafty to build a wooden mezzanine in the studio space for extra storage. There is some furniture if you need it like a desk, worktable, bookcase and chairs. We can talk painting floors if you need. There are common areas including a lounge/dining room, storage/tool/cleaning space, sunroom, bathroom and shower, laundry facilities and kitchen. Studio is lockable, and front door also remains locked. As there is no soundproofing this will not suit loud industrial work or music. The occasional drill or hammer, or having people over or music to listen to is fine. The photos show a lot of stuff in your space, as I am moving out – this will mostly be gone. You are welcome to come see the space and decide what you might want to keep (at no cost).
Close walking distance of a post office, cafes and bars on Lygon and The B.East. Walking distance to Coles, a chemist, bakeries and Fleming Park. 10 – 15 minute walk to Merri Creek walking trail. There's metalsmith, framers, woodsheds, and other creatives nearby if you need to commission work. Usually someone is home to take deliveries.
