The Main Hall is a large multi-use function space filled with natural light and polished wooden floors at Kensington Town Hall – one of Melbourne’s most unique arts venues for hire.
The main Hall is the largest of six unique creative spaces for hire at this 114-year-old arts and community hub. Interior features include a large central stage with projector screen and adjoining green room, ground floor access and proximity to accessible toilets and showers. There is heating throughout, and ventilation to expel hot air (the Main Hall is not air conditioned). Regular bookings include performances, conferences, cultural gatherings, markets and music events.
Easy access to public transport just a short 5-minute walk to Newmarket train station.
Close to great coffee and local restaurants in nearby Racecourse Road.

Access Hours
Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm Venue Access times for events can extend beyond these times. Access times for your event are to be negotiated with Kensington Town Hall Management in advance. The curfew for events at Kensington Town Hall is 11pm. At 11pm house lights are turned on; all amplified sound must stop, and your guests must leave the venue. Your bump out can continue after that time.
