Space overview

The One Star Lounge and Gallery is a good-looking, easily accessed multi purpose space allowing for art exhibitions (pop-up), functions, meetings, film screenings and other small events. Art exhibitions other than pop-up, by application and selection.

The main gallery space has a large window frontage , white painted walls, ceramic tiled floor and dedicated hanging and lighting systems. It interacts, through two archways, with the bright café and bar area which operates during the gallery opening hours. This can be operational outside normal hours in conjunction with other events if requested and the wall space in this area can also be used to expand an exhibition if appropriate. In addition there are two rooms at the rear one containing a snooker table, the other a small library/lounge area. These can be closed off for privacy, changing rooms etc, or used as a continuation of the gallery and event space.

One Star is in the thriving North and West Melbourne precinct - popular for fringe theatre and restaurants- within walking distance of the CBD, Queen Victoria
Market and Flagstaff (gardens and train station.) The 57 tram from Elizabeth St stops right outside.

We have two 6-8 seat trestle tables available for the main gallery room for meetings etc, which can be replaced by 30 chairs or removed for art openings and functions.

Pricing Terms

Minimum 2 hr rental. Prices are for events in conjunction with our cafe/bar/gallery open days (Wed 3-7pm, Sat 1-7). Sun, Mon, Tues available for rental (cafe not open). Meetings in gallery and cafe areas can be booked - price negotiable. Art Exhibitions (except for pop-up) by application and selection. Weekly price includes extra set-up day.
