Sleepless Studios

Music, film editing and multimedia studio with three distinct rooms – a synth & piano room, a focused control room, and a live room under a floating “cloud” ceiling that makes sessions feel slightly outside normal time and place. The studio is loaded with guitars, bass, drum kit, hardware synths, keys, quality mics, monitoring, PA, lighting and projection, so you can walk in and start writing, recording, scoring or editing straight away. It’s a cosy, slightly otherworldly private studio with an excellent vibe and everything you need to fall into a vortex of creativity. We offer casual hire for single sessions and short runs, as well as long-term weekly residencies if you want a regular home base to develop projects and clients.

The studio is tucked right in the heart of Footscray, a short walk from the station, cafes and late-night food and bars.

Long term hire agreements available via our residency program. Residencies are fixed weekly studio slots you can claim as your own.

You pick one day or night each week, the hours are always the same, and the room is yours.

We offer three styles of residency:

Daytime Residencies (your choice of a 4-hour or 8-hour block between 8am–6pm)

Evening Residency (6pm–11pm every week)

Overnight Residency (11pm–8am every week)

All residency plans include full access to all three rooms and all studio gear, and are billed monthly. It’s the easiest and most affordable way to lock in a regular creative workflow.

Sleepless Studios is also home base for Sleepless Footscray Festival, so the space sits inside a living community of artists, gigs and oddball experiments.
