Exhibition: The Day of the Dead

"The Day of the Dead - an artist book memoir that intersects the space between the self and the landscape of my heart.

It explores through the medium of relief printmaking and linocuts the emotional stains and bruises that loss and grief leave on your body. As a printmaker the repeating of patterns and marks throughout the book form a symbolic language within the work. The images reflect the view of my body and contain references to viscera and floral emblems and motifs. Elements of type are symbolic and reference the absence of my beloved. Printed on kitakata paper each block is hand printed and inked multiple times and sewn in multiple sections and areas that are both folded, torn and stitched together to form vertical and horizontal scrolls."

Showing in Capsule in Campbell Arcade until the end of February.
