The studio is warm, inviting and full of personality, with high ceilings, timber floors, and large windows that overlook gum trees. Afternoon light pours in, and you can often hear sheep bleating from the paddocks next door. Shelves are lined with inspiring design books, and a relaxed, creative energy flows throughout. Communal areas include a lounge space, a small meeting table, and a shared kitchenette with fridge and microwave. Storage options are also available. It’s a space designed to feel connected to nature and ideas—offering a peaceful and inspiring environment for focused, creative work. We’re flexible with the setup and open to reconfiguring the space to suit your needs. Come by and see if it feels like the right fit — we’d love to meet you. The studio is located in the historic Mercator Building at the Abbotsford Convent, just a few kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD. Set within lush gardens and surrounded by heritage buildings, it sits beside the Birrarung/Yarra River and the Collingwood Children’s Farm—offering a rare sense of calm and connection to nature in the city. The Convent is home to more than 100 artists, creatives and changemakers, forming Australia’s largest multi-arts precinct. It’s a vibrant and inspiring place to work, with access to Cam’s Kiosk for excellent coffee, pastries and lunch. You’re also a short walk from additional food options along Johnston Street, Victoria Street and St Heliers Street. With bike trails, riverside paths, and easy parking available (monthly passes are $80), it’s a truly unique and accessible place to base your creative practice.
